Convert seawater into freshwater with Fresh Water Generator Evaporator Plates!

Fresh water generator evaporator plates are the important machinery on board a ship. The water produced from these generators is used for drinking. Washing, cooking and running the other important machinery that use fresh water as a cooling medium.

With the evaporation method the people there converted the seawater into fresh water from any heat source. Generally the heat source available is taken from the main engine jacket water which is used for cooling the main engine components such as liner, cylinder head and more.

Another thing that is used for converting sea water and you will get it easily is Plate Type Heat Exchanger for Sale. Let’s discuss it and how it works.

What is a plate heat exchanger?

The design of the plate heat exchanger comprises several heat transfer heat transfer plates. Held by a fixed plate and a loose pressure plate to form a complete unit each plate has a two separate channel system.

The gasket arrangement allows the flow through single channels as it enables the primary and secondary media in a counter-current flow. The heat transfer efficiency for such a small size has increased the domestic hot water flow rate of combination boilers.

Small Plate Type Heat Exchanger for Sale has made a great impact on domestic heating and hot water larger commercial versions.

The water enters though the connections and portholes of the heat plates which are specially designed sealing gaskets located between the plates that direct the fluids so that the hot and cold fluids pass counter in alternating channels.

Fresh water generator evaporator plate arrangements

The main body of a freshwater generator on the ship consists of a large cylindrical body with two compartments. One of the compartments is the condenser and the other is the evaporator. It also consists of an educator who helps in generating the required vacuum and the water pump with a Hydraulic Pump for Sale Naniwa that helps in the transfer of water to and from the fresh water generator.

Start the generator

  • Before starting you must check that the ship is not in congested water and the canals are a few miles away from the shore. This is done because near the shore the effluents from factories and sewage are discharged into the sea.
  • The drain valve present at the bottom must be close
  • Open the suction and discharge valves of the seawater pump which will provide water for evaporation cooling and to the educator for creating a vacuum.
  • After the water has circulated inside the freshwater generator, open the valve that returns the water to the sea. Turn off the suction valve that is located above the generator.
  • Now turn on the seawater pump and observe the pump’s pressure. In Freshwater generator evaporator plates three to four bars of pressure are typical.
  • Hold off until the vacuum builds up. The generator’s gauge indicates that the vacuum should be at least 90%. The process of creating a vacuum usually takes ten minutes or less.
  • To stop the scale from forming inside the plates, open the feed water treatment valve as soon as a vacuum is reached. Now gradually open the intake and output valves for the hot water to about half.
